●
Block out the same 1 hour time block in your
day, every day to sit down and focus on your homework, and scholastic goals
●
Always read the chapter in the book before the
class when the teacher is going to cover it and have questions written down to
take with you so you can ask questions about the chapter
●
While reading the book, always write down notes
from the book and be sure to put the notes in your own words so when you go
back to review you’ll understand everything you are reviewing. A monkey can
copy text from a book, but to put it in your own words, you need to comprehend
it. When you go back to study for your exams, it will help to review concepts
and information in your own language
●
Force yourself to raise your hand and ask five
to ten questions every time you are in a class, this will help you learn the
material and you never forget answers to questions you ask in front of the
whole class
●
Put together study groups, online, phone or in person, with the other students in
your class once a week or every other week to connect and discuss the
concepts and information and also to figure out what the teacher has been
emphasizing to get an idea of what will be on the exams
